Working as an assistant scientist, data curation at Metabolon Inc. in NC
In my current position, I analyze chemical spectra and use proprietary in-house software, which is connected to a biochemical reference library of more than 14,000 known and unknown compounds to rapidly identify and quantify metabolites. They are then profiled into diverse metabolite classes, including the metabolic pathways of amino acids, carbohydrates, cofactors and vitamins, energy, nucleotides, lipids, xenobiotics, and microbiota.
What I have done; In 2011 Samantha Gilman (an American) and I started a project, TUJELIMU (Tujenge Elimu) to educate poor students in rural areas and buy academic essentials for the rural schools. We have since bought text books for Wang’arot sec. school in Rarieda, and educated 3 students from form one to four until they graduated from high school. The fourth one is in form four at Nyamira Girls Sec. school.TUJELIMU was registered as a North Carolina non-profit in March 2014 and we have plans to hold a fund-drive to raise money to build a library and science lab at Wang’arot Sec. School. We are hoping to get a 501(c)(3) status this year, God willing.
